Greetings!
If you have ever felt judged or condemned by me, I sincerely wish to repent and ask your forgiveness. Those of us who attempt to follow Jesus Christ are often the very stumbling blocks that repel our brothers and sisters from believing in Him. There is far too much division in our world among God’s children.
Catholics have an incredible opportunity to rise above all that WE allow to divide us — political ideologies, race, labels — “all attitudes that we have the right position before God” (Pope Francis).
If Jesus loved every person enough to suffer and die for them, I ought to love every person above my disordered attachment to my own ideas. As we approach Pentecost, let’s pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit that we “all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me” John 17:21).
Yours in our Risen Lord,
