Marian senior Veronica Campos is our Michiana High School Student of the Month for October.
Redeemer Radio’s Student of the month, presented by St. Joseph Health System, recognizes students who excel in the classroom, show a strong Catholic faith and are involved in extracurricular activities at school or in the community.
While Veronica is humble and claims she’s not a naturally smart person, she has a high GPA and is in many AP and honors classes.
She is a parishioner at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Elkhart. Veronica is a member of the Marian Students for Life Club and went to Washington D.C. last January to participate in the March for Life. She says that was a moving experience seeing so many passionate pro-life high school students.
Campos is involved in many other extracurricular activities as well. She’s captain of the Marian dance team, an important part of Spirit night and a Redeemer Radio sports intern (yes we were biased picking her for the first award!). The daughter of Mexican immigrants, Veronica is fluent in Spanish. For this reason, she decided to take another language in school. As it turns out—she’s learned quite a bit about French and is Vice President of the French Club. Veronica also works at her family restaurant La Esperanza in Elkhart on Sunday nights.
Be sure to check out our interview with Veronica from our morning show, the Daily Refill.
The Student of the Month interview airs between 7:30-8am on the 1st Wednesday of each month. To nominate a Student of the Month, go to redeemerradio.com/student and fill out the form.
