There’s no better way to get set for high school football each week than by tuning into Tailgate Talk, presented by Notre Dame Federal Credit Union, each Friday night at 6pm. Hosts Angelo Di Carlo, John Brach & Bob Berger take you around Michiana with interviews with coaches and players from throughout the area to get us set for that night’s big games and top storylines.


Angelo Di Carlo

Angelo Di Carlo is entering his 16th season covering Michiana high school sports. He joined the Redeemer Radio team in 2018 as the 95.7FM Sports Director. Prior to that, he was a sports anchor at WNDU-TV for 11 years, covering Notre Dame and high school sports. Angelo is passionate about high school sports and runs our internship program with students from both Marian and St. Joseph high schools. The son of Sicilian immigrants, Angelo isn’t afraid to express his opinion on any topic. Angelo, his wife Molly and their daughter Lily live in South Bend and are parishioners at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Bob Berger

Bob joined Redeemer Radio in 2016 as lead sports broadcaster and shifted to the analyst role in 2018 as well as co-host of Tailgate Talk. Bob is a graduate of Nappanee High School and Ball State University. Bob taught science and coached in the South Bend Community Corporation for 40 years. He was the head basketball coach at Riley High School for 20 years. Since his retirement in 2007 he has been active in broadcasting high school sports on television, radio and the internet. Bob and his wife Maria, graduated from Nappanee and Purdue university, have 4 adult children who live in the South Bend area. Bob and Maria have been members of Saint Matthew Cathedral Parish for 50 years. They are involved at Saint Matthews as Eucharistic Ministers, Daily and Sunday Lectors, Extended Care Facility Ministries, Health Ministries and Knights of Columbus.

John Brach

John Brach will be entering his senior year at Notre Dame and is a game analyst for Redeemer Radio’s football broadcasts. John was a star on the Marian football team & took part in the Redeemer Radio internship program during the basketball season of his senior year in 2018-2019. John did so well he was offered an on-air position on the broadcast team starting in 2019. John has served in many roles since, including as a video producer, play-by-play announcer and board operator during basketball season as well. He is a parishioner at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger.
